We are Camping Tiveden, for you!

Without a great, caring, hard-working, and cheerful team, we would never be able to offer you such a clean and welcoming

campsite!

We actually have two mottos that we love to share: we only offer what we ourselves love and can stand behind 100%. And whatever we do, we do it wholeheartedly and with great joy – both for ourselves as a team and for our warmly welcomed guests.

Of course, it’s fun for us, but it’s even more enjoyable for you, because everything we do revolves around making sure you have an amazing holiday with us here in beautiful Tiveden. We truly love contributing positively to that! :)

Cleaning and tidying up, welcoming guests, baking (fika) bread, providing (lots of) information about everything you want to know, mowing the lawn, renting out equipment, organizing Tipi-Mys, stocking up the shop, and so much more… It all keeps us busy every day!

And… we never get bored! Because every day, we get to see happy faces!

We also have so much fun together – both while we’re working and after work when we’re off-duty.

Here, Hein and Marlies proudly present our team:

Marlies

Marlies is like the mother of the campsite; she oversees everything related to guest contact, such as bookings and communication. She gives 100% to ensure that everything runs smoothly and to everyone’s satisfaction. She also takes great joy in adding the small details that give our campsite its personal touch: a troll entrance at the service building, a funny sign here and there, flower pots in just the right places, and hooks exactly where you need them. For her, everything has to be perfect! Both in front of and behind the scenes, she makes sure everything is well organized. She takes care of everything for the (summer) staff so they can work accurately and happily from a solid, comfortable foundation.

Hein

Hein is our all-rounder and expert in everything! He is practically our rock in the storm! Note: during the day, you’ll mostly see him as a “flying caretaker” around the campsite—handling emergencies, mowing the grass, burning weeds, and so on. But in the morning, he’s the head baker for your warm bread rolls and buns, then your driver to the canoe route, and in the evening, he’s the fire-stoker in the sauna or the chef for Tipi evenings.

At night, a strong cup of coffee next to the computer keeps him awake for the bookkeeping that still needs to be done ;) No campsite can manage without this jack-of-all-trades, who’s always ready with a joke when he has a moment to spare!

our family

Hein and Marlies have three sons, with whom they emigrated from the Netherlands exactly 15 years ago. Back then, they were still boys, but now they are technically skilled men with Swedish insights. All three contribute their unconditionally helpful shoulders to our camping business, where they have learned and experienced firsthand that their parents' hard work also brings back so much positive energy through the grateful, satisfied guests.

Camping Tiveden is their home, which they share during the summer with seasonal staff and guests, but in the winter, it is also our private family space where we live and spend time together.

Mèjoe

Mèjoe joined as an intern in 2021, determined not to let Covid-19 restrictions hold him back! And we are still very glad about that! He has developed into the most reliable and friendly front office staff member we could wish for at the reception. Structure and order are his recipe for success, which fits perfectly with our campsite policy. But thanks to his other nature—imitating characters, writing down funny quotes, and joking about rats—we share many laughs with him! When he helps Martin in the kitchen, apple swans are a sensitive topic ;) This year, he is entering his fifth season with us!

Leanne

Leanne is like a ray of sunshine in the reception! Her education in tourism, and management gives us the best foundation to make you – our guest – feel safe in her hands. Leanne truly enjoys the versatility of the job, and you will see her in many different places around the campsite: checking in or out behind the desk, cheerfully serving during our Tipi evenings, cycling to the service building for a thorough cleaning shift, and also early in the morning when she helps Hein bake and pack hundreds of rolls and pastries. Her lively imagination provides many wonderful laughs, like when the panicked chicken, chased by a dog, ran into the reception kitchen! Without Leanne, our summer team wouldn’t be complete, so we’re glad she keeps coming back!

Conny

Conny is one of our gifts from above! Together with Martin – her husband – she joined us in the summer of 2021 to "help out," and this slowly and steadily turned into a reliable, recurring, and stable seasonal job! Nowadays, Conny is more or less our 'cleaning supervisor' and also keeps track of the souvenirs and stock in the reception. In addition, Conny is incredibly versatile. She helps with serving alongside Martin during our Tipi evenings, participates in the morning baking and packing shifts, and... she fries the best fries for our takeaway moments – we jokingly say that "Conny's fry stand" is behind the reception ;)) In her free time, you'll often see her walking with Koko, their special French Bulldog. With Conny, a chat is always pleasant and genuine!

Martin

Martin is Conny’s other half and a true gift, with talents that span many areas. Originally a professional entertainer, he is a perfect fit here at the campsite! Sometimes, he puts on his clown nose – but more often, he creates a lovely balloon figure when the occasion arises.

He is also the chef for most of our Tipi evenings, responsible for the ingredients, cooking, and serving. The chef’s jacket suits him very well ;) During the day, he works as caretaker of the campsite, carrying out his tasks with great passion and joy!

Judith

Judith is our loyal summer helper who always returns. She started with us in the summer of 2018 as a slightly shy young girl, but has since blossomed into an amazing, confident team member who takes on any task without hesitation! As the daughter of a carpenter, she’s always ready to help Hein build cabins, and painting jobs are her favorite ;) She also enjoys cleaning the cabins and sanitary facilities, and when there’s a toilet blockage, it's a true "Judith situation"! In the reception, she handles check-ins and check-outs, and German guests are her specialty, as she speaks German quite well ;) Judith is also passionate about Swedish nature, as she studies flora and fauna (ecology).

Hedda

Hedda is a rock we can always rely on! She is the best at cleaning all the service areas and is happy to restock the kiosk with every kind of food imaginable, doing so carefully and thoroughly. She arrives early on her bike and bakes bread and pastries with Hein. When the reception doors open at 8:30 AM, she’s ready and eagerly helps the long line of guests. During Tipi evenings, she prefers to serve Swedish guests, as it’s her native language, but she handles German and English just as well! Hedda is undoubtedly our most organized dishwashing master and can tidy up the chaotic kitchen in no time! We, her colleagues, hold Hedda in the highest regard – she’s a real gem!

Eva

Eva is an all-round team member and is now returning for her third season. She has become an amazing summer helper and a super-friendly colleague for all of us – both we and the guests can always count on Eva! There’s always a clean cabin and a fresh shower and toilet area in the service building for you. Eva also serves food in the tipi tent, sells bread, and is incredibly skilled at organizing cupboards and storage! Within the camping team, she also cooks for the large group, which usually consists of 8-10 people – that’s no small task!

Ole

Ole is the youngest member of our team and has now had the chance to experience what it’s like to help out and work at a campsite! And it left him wanting more! Ole is incredibly driven and a very handy guy in the making. We’re really looking forward to having him back and to help him become an all-round team member – from outdoor work and lawn mowing to cleaning, dishwashing, and serving. Hein's right-hand man, in other words :) You’ll surely see him in the coming summers!
