Nature

As a nature enthusiast, birdwatcher, or perhaps a wildlife photographer, you’ll be delighted to stay with us, as there is an incredible amount to see, to discover, and to experience in and around Tiveden in terms of nature and wildlife.

We especially recommend visiting either earlier in the season or later in the season, as that’s when insects, (predatory) birds, and wild animals are most active, giving you the best chance to spot them.

All the photos you see on this page were actually taken on, near, or around the campsite. Some were captured spontaneously with a phone, while others were the result of long, patient waiting and watching. Either way, each shot was taken by a delighted (and often surprised) photographer. :)

Wild animals don’t roam directly and daily on the campsite; we wouldn’t want to oversell it. But they are certainly close by!  Especially as evening falls, you can hear the sounds of animals and birds awakening: barking deer, screaming foxes, grumbling wild boars, the echo of an owl flying overhead, loons calling over the lake, and perhaps even a howling lynx or a braying moose.

There is still so much more to learn and discover about the nature, landscape, and all the wild animals in Sweden!

And therefore our tip as well to consider an extraordinary adventure, like a moose safari or a guided nature walk with an overnight stay! A guide knows so much more and truly enriches your experience. We can assist in connecting you with one of the local, highly professional guides, such as David, or, even better, you can book directly here: Naturguide Tiveden.
